Keeping those in mind the organizers have planned a two-day international conference (virtual mode) on the above theme. This conference provides a platform to all stakeholders in the field of libraries and information professions with the objective to promote innovation, augmentation, and utilization of ICT technologies to provide right information to the right user at the right time in a right way during the COVID and post COVID. The conference will be held through Online Mode of the Central Library, The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, during 7 -9 October 2021.
The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, (TNDALU), Chennai, India was established in the year 1997, (Act No. 43 of 1997) by the Government of Tamil Nadu and it was inaugurated by the then President of India His Excellency Shri K. R. Narayanan. The Law University, offers legal education on its campus Under the broad canopy of School of Excellence in Law (SOEL), the Law University is offering Five Years integrated B.A.LL.B (Hon’s), B.Com. LL.B. (Hons), B.B.A LL.B. (Hon’s), B.C.A. LL.B. (Hon’s), and Three Years LL.B. (Hon’s) as part of its Under Graduate Courses and 10 Post Graduate Departments offering LL.M., Degrees. The Research wing is offering Ph.D. in Law and Inter – Disciplinary studies both Full-time and Part-time. The University is Asia’s First Affiliating type Law University in India and it have its affiliated Law Colleges which consists of the 16 Government Law Colleges and 2 Private Law Colleges, located within the State of Tamil Nadu.
Education and Library services are the twin sisters and one cannot live apart from the other. The University Library has a total collection of 36,513 books, more than 8464 journals which includes online as well as print journals of National, International, 30 CD ROMs, 80 Audio cassettes and 4 Video cassettes. The Library has a rich collection of books in various sub-disciplines of Law. It has an enviable collection of reference books and journals viz., AIR Manual, American Jurisprudence, Corpus JurisSecundum, Halsbury’s Laws of England, Halsbury’s Laws of India, International Law Reports, U.S. Supreme Court Reports, Words and Phrases, Encyclopedia Britannica, Encyclopedia of Social Science, Encyclopedia of Intellectual Property Rights, International Encyclopedia of Social Sciences etc., The back volumes of 65 Journals are also available. This is the first and only institution offering “Post Graduate Diploma in Law Librarianship” in India, Asia and the Pacific.
“Transition or Transformation of Libraries due to COVID Pandemic: Lessons to Learn”
Papers are invited on the theme based on research experience or theoretical model, case studies from all fraternities, including LIS students, librarians, academicians, research scholars and IT professionals. The paper must be an application oriented addressing the present day issues and providing solutions are most welcome. Contributors are asked to submit an extended abstract in minimum of 1000 words before the time schedule mentioned in the portal. The decision of editorial committee is final in the selection of abstract. Once the abstract is accepted the decision will be intimated to authors to submit full length paper and registration fee. Without registration fee paper will not be accepted for print the conference proceedings.
This conference is aimed at a broader section of Library and Information Science Professionals, Legal Professionals knowledge workers, academicians, practicing librarians, research scholars, students, and IT Professionals.
